Get Organized! (GO!)
**This group has been combined with SSS below...**
This group will meet for 4 sessions and take students through an organizational boot camp program created by the American School Counseling Association. Open to any student needing help organizing their belongings, binders, bags, etc. via teacher, parent or student referral. We will meet during a designated flex period. I offer check ins to students for help as needed following the completion of the group.
Student Success Skills (SSS)
This group will meet for 4 sessions and follows a solution focused model for student academic success. Goal setting and monitoring will help students achieve success in academics. Study skills, time management, test taking, and note taking skills will be taught. This is open to regular ed students who are not being successful in their academics who may benefit from learning how the skills to be successful students. I offer check ins to students for help as needed following the completion of the group.
Boys Lunch Bunch
This group will meet for 4 sessions during the students’ lunch periods and
focus on building confidence and self-esteem.
Girls Lunch Bunch
This group will meet for 4 sessions during the students’ lunch periods and
focus on building confidence and self-esteem.
Meeting and Making Friends (MnMs)
This social skills group will meet for 4 sessions during the students’ lunch periods and will teach students the social skills necessary for meeting people and developing friendships. I offer check ins to students for help as needed following the completion of the
group.
FISH
Families in Separate Homes will be an ongoing group that will meet all year during a designated 8th period and function as a support group.
Just Chillin It
This group will meet for 6 sessions during a designated 8th period or flex period and focus on teaching skills for expressing emotions appropriately and developing healthy coping skills. I offer check ins to students for help as needed following the completion of the group.
Peace of Mind
This one session experience will be offered during designated 8th periods for boys and girls who want to engage in relaxation techniques and learn skills for increasing mindfulness and peace. Only 4 students can be accommodated in each offered session of Peace of Mind. Mrs. Lang will offer Peace of Mind throughout the year and students will be scheduled as they sign up.
New to the View
This group will meet once per month and is for any student who is new to the district. We will meet during an 8th period. I will include any students who are listed as a new enrollment in this group.
