Below you will find a list of activities and opportunities for parent involvement, sponsored by the School Counselors at Skyview. We welcome your participation in all of our activities for parents.
Please refer to this website frequently for dates and details of these events and happenings. We will be updating this page monthly, as well as sending out a monthly E Alert to you notifying you of a recent posting here.
PACT (Parents And Counselors Together)
Join the school counselors and other parents every other month for an hour of discussion and fellowship. This informal gathering is a time for us to get together and discuss topics of child development and any parenting concerns that you may have. At times, the school counselors will pre select a topic that they feel would be beneficial at the time.
Meetings are held in the Counseling Center at Skyview during the school day. Please call your child's counselor to RSVP.
Coffee and snacks are welcome. If you wish to bring something for the meeting, please let your counselor know. We will never turn down goodies and coffee!
Mrs. Lang's Book Club
Join Mrs. Lang in reading and discussing a book this year. Book Club Meetings will be held every other month, The first book club meeting will be scheduled soon. During the "off" months in which we do not meet, book club members are encouraged to participate in discussion on Mrs. Lang's Counseling Corner Blog by posting and responding to questions and feedback from members. This way we can stay actively engaged with one another as we read and learn.
Our Book is DRIVE by Dan Pink. Although we do not have an active book club for this year at Skyview, I urge you to read the book and view this TED talk about it, presented by the author. Please click on the link below to view this TED talk:
